Do you have an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World? We’re here to help prepare you for all of the new changes being made to Walt Disney World.
As of October 11, 2022, Genie+ will start to vary when it comes to pricing. Genie+ is now subject to "surge pricing" - meaning that the cost of Genie+ will vary depending on the expected crowds. Genie+ in the month of October, will be anywhere from $15 per day to $22 per day. For example, a holiday may be more expensive than just an ordinary Wednesday. However pricing is subject to change after October. Guests will still continue to purchase Genie+ first thing in the morning like they have been doing.
Lightning Lane will operate in a similar way to Genie+. Lightning Lane pricing will be subject to an increase depending on the day as well. On a busier, more sought after park day a Lightning Lane may reach $22 per ride, while on a less busy day a Lightning Lane for a single ride may be $15. For guests traveling during peak travel times such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and holiday weekends, we recommend either strategizing what rides you will be rope dropping or possibly stocking up on some Disney Gift Cards from Target if you plan on using Genie+ or individual Lightning Lanes.
For guests who plan on building a droid at the Droid Depot or a Lightsaber at Savi’s there has been a slight increase in the pricing that is effective immediately. Droids are now starting at $119.99 and Lightsabers are now starting at $249.99. Guests are always welcome to check out Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiques in Hollywood Studios and the Star Wars Trading Post in Disney Springs. Neither location requires a reservation, however there can sometimes be a wait to enter the stores depending on how busy it is. Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiques is home to the largest collection of rare Star Wars memorabilia that range in price, but can be on the more affordable side than Savi’s. It’s sure to be a hit with Star Wars loving travelers.
Resort Guests will now see a slight increase in the price of the Resort Rapid Refill Mugs. Guests are still more than welcome to use this mug as often as they would like during their length of stay at all of the Walt Disney World Resorts (not just the resort you purchase the mug at.) Rapid Refill stations are located in most resort quick service locations and contain various sodas, soft drinks, bubbly water, tea and coffee. They are now priced at $21.99 and are available at most quick service locations, and can also be purchased in a mobile order.
Travelers who choose to purchase Memory Maker also have the option to purchase a personalized "Capture Your Moment" session. A Capture Your Moment Session is a personal photoshoot that is 20 minutes long for a group of up to 8 guests. Your photographer will meet the party at a specified location and take photos that will be uploaded to Memory Maker, giving guests free downloads and the option to print these photographs. The price of a 20 minute Capture Your Moment Session is $99. For guests who would like a longer time frame you are more than welcome to book back to back sessions. This is a session that your Travel Expert will be more than happy to book for your upcoming trip.
