New Year! New Disney!

As we close out the 100th Celebration of the Walt Disney Company, the new year brings many new and exciting changes to Walt Disney World. In 2024, some crowd-favorite changes are making a return that we haven’t seen since the beginning of 2020.

Beginning January 9, guests can indulge in the dining plan! The dining plan is the perfect enhancement to your next Walt Disney World vacation. Enjoy the luxury of prepaying for your meals and not having to worry about budgeting for what you’ll be eating on your vacation. The Disney Dining Plan gives each guest 1 table service meal, one quick-service meal, and one snack per night of their stay. It also includes one resort refillable mug that can be used throughout your entire trip. The Quick-Service Dining Plan gives each guest two quick-service meals per night, one snack per night, and one resort refillable mug. Both dining plans include a beverage with each meal; guests who are 21 and older can substitute their included beverage for a complimentary alcoholic beverage like a beer, wine, or cocktail.

Theme Park Reservations

Park reservations are a thing of the past… for MOST ticket types! Guests traveling using a Walt Disney World vacation package will no longer be required to have park reservations. Guests with date-specific tickets also will not need park reservations. That means if you purchased your tickets through a travel expert, you will not need park reservations! Guests purchasing their tickets separately through their place of work, military guests, and annual passholders will still be required to make park reservations.

Park Hopping

It’s official: guests can park hop whenever they would like beginning on January 9th! That means you no longer have to wait until 2 PM to visit your next park. Whether you’ll be visiting two parks in a day or completing a four-park challenge, you can go to the next park whenever you would like as long as the park has not reached capacity. If you’ll be traveling during a busy season like Christmas, we highly recommend calling the park capacity phone number (407) 560-5000 to make sure that you can still enter your desired park.

Annual Passholder News

While annual passholders will still need park reservations, there will be “good-to-go days” that allow annual passholders to enter the parks without park reservations. These dates will be reflected on the Annual Passholder Calendar beginning January 11, 2024. Good-to-go days will be added periodically and can be released weeks or days before. Annual Passholders can continue to visit the theme parks without park reservations after 2 PM with the exception of Magic Kingdom on Saturdays or Sundays. Annual Passholder blockout dates still apply depending on the pass tier.
