See a summer breeze blow away a winter storm at Blizzard Beach!

“The hot and the cold are both so intense. Put them together? It just makes sense.” Blizzard Beach is something worth melting for that must... have come right from Olaf’s imagination. Experience the fun of a waterpark merged with a ski resort on your next Walt Disney World Vacation at Blizzard Beach. The best part is while it may be winter in Orlando, Blizzard Beach is still open! Blizzard Beach offers fun for the whole family from raft rides, to body slides, a fun area for the littlest snowballs and even a chairlift!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride a chair lift in Florida? While you won’t be skiing, hop aboard the chair lift for a quick ride to several of the park's popular water slides! The chairlift gives guests a one way lift to the top of the mountain. This saves guests some extra steps on their way to ride Summit, Slush and Teamboat Springs, but keep in mind this is a one way chairlift, you must walk down from the top if you decide not to ride one of the rides. To ride the chairlift guests must be 32 inches tall.

Summit Plummet is a must for any thrill seekers 48 inches or taller. Guests will vertically plummet 12 stories down this 360 foot drop, high speed body side. Slush Gusher is a great alternative for the less adventurous beach goers! While this is still a 90 foot high speed water slide, it’s not as unnerving as Summit Plummet, the height requirement however is still 48 inches or taller. If body slides aren’t quite your thing there are some fun more family friendly slides and raft rides like Snow Stormers that doesn’t have a height requirement, Runoff Rapids and Teamboat Springs.

Tike’s Peak

The smallest snowballs shorter than 48 inches will LOVE Tike’s Peak, they may even appreciate it a little bit more if they’re Frozen fans! The winter wonderland in the water has wading pools, an igloo snow fortress fit for Elsa, miniature slides and even snow chutes! Some beaches are also worth melting for, parent’s can hang out on the beach surrounding Tike’s Peak and kids can take a break from the water in the sand. I guess this really is what frozen things do in summer!

Fun for the Family

Melt-Away Bay is a one acre wave pool at Blizzard Beach, but this isn’t your ordinary wave pool. Guests are welcome to swim or relax and soak up the sun in inner-tubes. Melt Away has short waves that are perfect for relaxing. Cross Country Creek is the lazy river at Blizzard Beach, this 3,000 foot long creek allows guests to float or paddle through caves, grottos but beware of the waterfalls, geysers and leaky pipes that have cracked in the cold along your float. Guests can enter and exit at any of the 7 landings along the Creeks route.

Dining

No trip to the “slopes” is complete without a trip to the lodge to warm up.. Or in our case cool down. Lottawatta Lodge has cheeseburgers, flatbreads and other quick meal and snack options. Polar Pub is a beach bar that serves beer, wine along with a full service bar to make all of your favorite vacation drinks. It’s not a trip to a Disney Waterpark without stopping for freshly fried mini donuts at Joffrey’s, but if you’re looking for something a little “chillier” stop by Frostbite Freddy’s Frozen Refreshments or the Cooling Hut for a snack that will cool you down.
