Park reservations have been eliminated for most guests at Walt Disney World. For guests with a package that includes tickets or guests with date-specific tickets, you will no longer need park reservations to enter the parks! Annual Passholders and guests who have obtained their tickets via a third party will still be required to make park reservations. In the past, guests were required to have a park reservation to join a virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle/Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. That is no longer the case beginning January 9, 2024.
Guests can now join ONE virtual queue at any theme park where they have valid admission; certain admission types will also require a theme park reservation. This means that if you have a park hopper, you can make a virtual queue reservation for any virtual queue. However, if you only have a single park ticket to Magic Kingdom, you must reserve Tron as your virtual queue selection. Guests will only be allowed to hold one attraction virtual queue at a time.
The 7 AM virtual queue will open as usual, where guests will just be required to have valid admission to the park. The 1 PM virtual queue will slightly change. To join the virtual queue at 1 PM, you must be inside the park for which you would like a virtual queue, meaning guests can park hop into EPCOT to get a 1 PM Guardians virtual queue or into Magic Kingdom for a 1 PM TRON virtual queue.
Here’s where things may get a little bit tricky! If you are park hopping and trying to get TWO virtual queues in one day, you must use your first virtual queue and scan into the next park before 1 PM to join a second virtual queue. So yes, it is now logistically possible to ride both TRON and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on the same day!
